SELIGMAN ON DOJ LAWSUIT TO INVALIDATE

ASSAULT GUN MAGAZINE BAN: 
"COME AND TAKE IT"
 

Denver, CO – Today the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in Denver District Court to invalidate a crucial gun violence prevention law passed after the 2012 mass shooting banning high-capacity ammunition magazines. David Seligman, candidate for Attorney General, issued the following statement:

"In 2012, a man tried to massacre an entire Aurora movie theater. We lost twelve lives that day, and as a state, we said 'No more.' Colorado stood up to the gun lobby by passing a common-sense law to protect our people. It’s absurd that Trump’s corrupt DOJ is giving a free pass to billionaires and corporations to rip us off, and instead weaponize the law to make us less safe. All I can say is: Come and take it. As Attorney General I will defend our state from the corrupt Goliaths, including the federal government, that are intent on trampling our rights.”
