Who is David?

• Father of three young daughters, Denver native, Harvard Law grad — a public interest lawyer who has spent every day of his career standing up for working people. Never run for office before.

• Spoke at the Bernie Sanders and AOC rally in Greeley. Endorsed by leading progressive state legislators and national leaders including former FTC commissioners and Biden labor officials.

• Believes we are living through a crisis built by a system where the elite play by a different set of rules — and the Trump administration is the most dangerous expression of that yet, billionaires and corporations pillaging the country through corruption and lawlessness while working families pay the price. Running for office because taking on that two-tiered system is the most urgent challenge of our time.

• Sued the Trump administration and won. Sued the Polis administration and won — including stopping the Governor from turning over Coloradans' personal information to ICE. That fight has never been about the blue team versus the red team. It's always been the many versus the money.

• Helped build Towards Justice into one of the most powerful workers' rights, consumer rights, and civil rights organizations in the country — recovering nearly $100 million for working people by taking on Amazon, Uber, Kroger, GEO Group, corporate landlords, and billion-dollar hospital systems. Built pathbreaking legal theories using workers' rights, consumer protection, and antitrust law boldly and courageously to make the law real in people's lives.

What's David's Vision?

• Fight Trump and the whole ecosystem around him — and David's already doing it. He called for suing ICE officers who trample our rights before Minnesota did, before his opponents started doing the same. He'll go after federal contractors like Palantir, block mergers by corporations that bribed this administration for their own profits, and hold accountable every institution that does Trump's bidding in ways that violate Colorado law — whether hospitals cutting gender-affirming care, corporations abandoning civil rights commitments, or contractors trampling our rights. David already won at the Supreme Court against GEO Group on behalf of people detained at the Aurora immigration detention center and has gone after sheriffs collaborating with ICE in violation of state law.

• Build a Surveillance Technologies Strike Force to go after companies spying on us and using our data to jack up prices and drive down wages. David has already been in court against Amazon and Uber for using surveillance and algorithms to do exactly this to workers. As AG he'll use consumer protection, privacy, antitrust, and civil rights law together to lead the country in fighting back — taking on Big Tech companies, Flock cameras, and companies like Palantir building the largest AI surveillance system in history.

• Make polluters pay through an Environmental Justice and Enforcement Unit that operates independently of the Governor. Suncor poisons Commerce City, makes $2 billion in a quarter, and gets a $2 million fine. We don't have to live this way. As AG David will go after the oil refineries, fracking companies, and data centers that are polluting our air and water and harming communities.

• Invest in communities, not prisons. What we win from the corporate bad actors making us unsafe — Big Tech, Big Oil, Big Healthcare — will go back into a Community Health and Safety Fund for mental health, behavioral health, and substance use treatment, the things we know actually keep communities safe. Real public safety isn't more prison beds.

• Fight for renters and workers at scale. As AG David will take on corporate landlords charging junk fees, corporate union-busting, and the consolidation driving up the cost of housing, groceries, healthcare, and childcare. 

• Fight to ban private equity ownership of housing and healthcare — the most basic things in people's lives shouldn't be investment opportunities for billionaires.

Why David Has the Experience for This Moment?

• The only AG candidate in this race who has spent his entire career representing working people — not institutions, not corporations — and who is running to put the law on the side of ordinary people.

• David and his team have built some of the biggest case in the country, using the law boldly and courageously to protect renters, consumers, and workers, and won nearly $100 million for working people. He’s also drafted and helped to pass more than a dozen Colorado laws that protecting working people. Imagine scaling that to the full power of the Colorado AG's office.

• Won 9-0 at the Supreme Court just weeks ago in Menocal v. GEO Group — the largest human trafficking class action in American history, on behalf of tens of thousands of people detained in Aurora, Colorado. David and the Towards Justice team worked this case for over a decade. The Court ruled unanimously that corporations can't hide behind government contracts to escape accountability.

• Won a first-in-the-nation trial ending prison slavery in Colorado — the Polis Administration was forcing incarcerated people to work in violation of the constitutional ban that 66% of Colorado voters passed.

• Taken on the most powerful corporations in America and beaten them — Amazon's illegal workplace surveillance; Uber's algorithmic manipulation of driver pay, leading to Colorado being the only state requiring Uber and Lyft to show how much of your fare actually goes to the driver; fine-print no-poach agreements trapping nurses, teachers, veterans, and fast food workers in their jobs, freeing hundreds of thousands of workers; Greystar's junk fees on renters; first-in-the-nation cases against AI companies denying people jobs and healthcare.

• Helped pass over a dozen Colorado laws — renters' protections, workers' rights measures, consumer protection laws, and the farmworker bill of rights.
